Tad

This weekend Ryan and I tried to clean up our yard some and took out this ugly shrub in the front. It was hard work but fun doing it with Ryan! Anyways I was raking over the ground and found a turtle shell! We weren't sure if it was alive so we put it in some water and left it alone for a few minutes and he slowly started to peek his head out! We were so excited because we've never lived in areas where turtles just roam around! lol So we brought him inside and gave him a little home and named him Tad, but all he did all day was try to escape and we felt bad and let him go that night. It was fun having Tad for a day but I'm sure he's happier now back in the wild. :)

Ryan let him crawl around before we brought him back outside but all he did was run for cover

Here I am at 21 1/2 weeks!!

Prenatal Fitness Fix

Erin O'Brien's Prenatal Fitness Fix

I have always loved to exercise and have been a big runner for most of my life but since about week 12 of pregnancy I have stopped running and have been trying other exercises. Running was good but about 12 weeks I would sometimes get these stretching pains or discomforts and get scared and walk, so I decided it was time for something new. When we were at BYU-I they had the free gym and I would do elliptical or bike or something but since we got to Georgia the gym's here are expensive! I've been trying to do vigorous walking everyday but wanted to switch it up and get a different work-out. So I went to the library and rented a couple DVD's for pregnancy exercise and found this little number. Wow, it was awesome!! It was pretty tough and got me sweating good, now I don't know if it's because I haven't done an aerobic video in a while, the heat in Georgia or what but it was great. I'm definitely going to look into getting this on ebay and some other videos. The nice thing is you can do it at home, cheap, convenient and she's pregnant too so I'm not worrying if I'm pushing myself too hard and doing what's good for my baby and I!

It's a BOY!!

We're having a BOY!! We are so excited and love him so much!! I had my first appt since moving to Georgia yesterday and was SUPER excited because everyone knows that around 20 weeks is when you get to have an ultrasound and see the baby. We met our OBGYN and really liked him, Dr. McDonough. He asked me a couple questions and went over my paperwork, then it sounded like he was ending the appt, so I asked if we were going to get to have an ultrasound and he said no because there wasn't any openings! I was like WHAT!!?? Ryan had got off work early and we totally thought we were going to get to see our baby today. So he went and checked to see if there were any and miraculously there were but, he said we might have to wait an hour but we didn't care! So he listened to the baby's heart beat and the routine stuff. We were going back to wait in the waiting room when the ultrasound tech was standing there waiting to bring us back!! It just kept getting better and better, I mean when are they actually waiting on you! So right away we found out he was a boy and were ecstatic!! Ryan's face was so cute!! You could see how proud and excited he was! I loved getting the ultrasound! It was incredible seeing our baby move and seeing all his bones, the heart, fingers, toes, lips, nose and ears!! Everything looked perfect and he weighed 13 oz!! He had his arms back up over his head like he was just relaxing in there and the coolest part was at the end she held it still and we could just see him playing around and enjoying himself!!! We are so excited to meet him!! I love being able to feel him move and just being pregnant is incredible! Ryan and I were talking about what a miracle being pregnant and having the ability to create children really is! Heavenly Father is so wonderful and I'm so grateful to Him for giving us this wonderful opportunity and ability to have children. There's no doubt in my mind that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love each and everyone of us so much! I'm so grateful to be carrying one of His children!

Here's a leg, very strong like his dad!

This one he's turned away from the screen but you can still see some toes and his body!

Homemaker

I found some fruit on sale the other day and decided to freeze it!! Growing up we would always make freezer jam and can applesauce but I don't have all the canning supplies and thought just freezing would be fine. I found this great website that gave me easy instructions and went to work!

Also yesterday I decided to finally clean my toaster! Now I've had this toaster since I first went to college and let's just say its got a lot of good use out of it. Slowly over time it's built up grease and crumbs stuck to it that I couldn't just wipe off and would give up and find something else to do.

Nastiness

This time I used some trusty baking soda and water and it worked!!

Go ahead and try it out, baking soda is a miracle worker!

Meece

So Ryan went to Guatemala on his mission and spoke Kekchi for most of it. It's a Mayan language spoke in the northern mountains where he served for most of his mission. The word for cat is meece and I think its the cutest thing ever, so whenever I see a cat I call it meece! haha A couple days into moving into our place one morning Ryan found 2 little kittens sleeping on some of his tools in the garage!! It was the cutest thing and wish I had gotten a picture. We really don't know how they got in besides probably just slipping under the door when it was closing, but nevertheless they were they. We aren't supposed to have pets so we had to get them out but weren't sure how because whenever you would open the door they would run under his toolbox. During the day we had seen momma meece roaming around looking for her little babes and finally realized they were in our garage. With a lot of coaxing (Ryan trying to scare them out with a broom, don't worry he didn't hurt them) they finally ran to momma meece. The neat thing was is that they hung around the backyard all day! They were so cute and the little meece would play, but whenever I even opened the door to go outside they would dart away except for momma meece. Well unfortunately we had to get them to leave because like I said we couldn't have cats but it was fun for a day and hopefully can find a good home, if they don't already have one!

Georgia the New Chapter

Here's to a new chapter in our life!! We got down to Georgia about 2 weeks ago and have been getting settled in. Ryan is really liking his new job at John Deere and is working with the hydraulics in current products. We love our new ward and being in Georgia. We love our new home! Its so fun being in our own place and not having to worry about upstairs or downstairs neighbors!! Ryan loves the garage and can actually work on our cars and things without having to go anywhere. It was really neat when we moved in they already had a tomato, green pepper and cucumber plant growing!! I was so excited, especially since the topsy turvy incident a few months ago. haha So I bought 2 more tomato plant, because you can buy them this late in the season because it's like a jungle, and started working on my potted "garden." The weather hasn't been as hot as we thought, don't get me wrong, its usually upper 80s to 90s everyday and HUMID!! Plus the cicadas, locus and whatever else lives in the trees are LOUD!! I mean really loud, it's like they are competing with each other, but things are great. We have been so blessed by the Lord and know this is where we are supposed to be!

19 weeks!! We find out the gender on the 21st and are so excited!!

Here's our first home!! haha You can see my potted "garden" out front. The backyard doesn't have                     enough sun

The backyard with a cute little swing!
