Being a Nurse
I can't believe that it will be 4 years in July of me being a nurse!!! So crazy how fast that has gone by and how much I have learned and been able to experience! I've been able to work in many different areas and each area has something cool to offer. Nursing is a great job, but can get overwhelming and stressful at times, as all nurses know. I was working on the cardiac unit for a little less than a year back in August and was needing a break. We then moved to Georgia while Ryan and I were doing Ryan's internship, which was a blessing. I'm now working in the float pool and really enjoying it. I like the variety of working on different floors, meeting new people and the change of things everyday. I was getting burned out back in August and the break was such a wonderful blessing and now love my job as a nurse again!! Ever since I started working again back in January I've enjoyed nursing so much more and had my batteries recharged. I remember reading a talk by President Monson in the January Ensign called Living the Abundant Life and it said to Have a Positive Attitude and it really effected me. Some of the things I see, hear and smell are definitely not the most pleasant but if I have a good attitude it really makes a world of difference. I know the Lord and helped me tremendously and I've had so much support and love from Ryan, my mom and all my family and friends. I've realized that nursing is such a neat job because I get to work with all kinds of people and help them when they are in some peoples lowest moments. I've been trying to look at my patients with an attitude that we all need help in this world. I'm not the judge and I have this opportunity where I get to help and see lots of people get better. It's opened my eyes to realizing that people are so complex and so much makes up a person and to not judge one another. I've also realized that laughing at these stressful times makes a world of difference as well. I've been grateful to be a nurse and all the life lessons its taught me, and helped me grow!
