Family Garden

This is our second year doing a garden and we wanted to go big or go home! It was our first year in our new home and we definitely had the land for it. We started it from a grass field which was hard and gave us tons of weeds. Ryan started by tilling up the land a few times to break up the deep roots.

Haha it didnt take too long before the grass grew right back. I started working on getting out a little patch at a time and mowed the rest down

We used our awesome sun room to grow a lot of our seeds so they had a head start when we planetd them in the garden.

Everything we planted!

I didnt do the best documenting everything we got from the garden but I got a few pictures

First lettuce!

This was the garden before we left for Wisconsin, so the beginning of July

Ryan grilled up a bunch of the vegetables one night and it was AMAZING!! I'm getting so excited for summer just looking at these pictures

This was an accident. Once the zucchini gets this big it's really only good for baking and shredding it up. Our squashes did so good this year. We had zucchini, yellow squash, green squash, patty pan, butternut, acorn and this one that looked like a yellow pumpkin. It just kept on producing, so we had it all summer long  and I still have acorn squash! The cool thing about winter squash, which I learned this past year, is it can last all winter long if it's in a cool place. Again, I just leave it on the sun room and it preserves them great.

We tried growing cantaloupe and watermelon this year and didn't quite make it. They started growing pretty good but was were about a month too late. If we would've had a month more of warm weather I think the melons would've made it. We were able to do it in Georgia but maybe we'll try to start them earlier this year.

We had a great pumpkin turnout!! I loved the little pumpkins and had them in the house all the way til I put up the Christmas decorations

I "canned "a bunch of jalapenos which were awesome! These could only stay in the fridge because we didnt have a pressure cooker so that's why I said they were "canned." Ryans mom gave us a pressure cooker for Christmas which we're stoked about! Now we can can (haha) vegetables. I froze a bunch of green beans and shredded squash this year but next year we can do so much more!

House Projects

The projects continue with our home. We have a room, I would consider it a sun room, that was added onto the back of our home by the previous owners. It's awesome because it's a mud room and sun room. Last spring we put our garden plant starts in there and it worked like a greenhouse. Anyways, it badly needed to be painted and we finally found the time at almost the last nice/warm day of the year to paint it. It was hard to pick a paint color because the rest of the house is brick but I'm happy with it.

Vince taking a break :)

Fun with dad while working

When we got the septic replaced they realized there was another small leak underground coming from our house. Ryan figured out it was a leak from the 60 year old sewer pipe leading from our bathroom! Sounds fun, huh? Then to really put the icing on the cake, it went right under our sun room so he had to bust up the concrete patio and go around it. We dug a 60 foot long trench and spent 2 days fixing it. Ryan did most of the work but I was out helping for awhile. I decided I'm going to write to Jillian Michaels and suggest a new workout video. It's called digging a trench! Holy cow, that was literally backbreaking, I was so sore, but we finished and I'm so grateful for Ryan and what a hard worker he is!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Ryan turned 30 on Sept 27th!!! We both can't believe he has entered into the 30s!!! We wanted to do something awesome like go on a fun 4 wheeling trip but we were still recovering from the accident and couldn't, but we still had a good time celebrating at home.
I'm really not that great of a writer and don't feel like I'm going to say this eloquently enough but Ryan is the most amazing person I know. I truly feel so blessed to be his wife. He is such a loyal, trustworthy, honorable man. He is an amazing husband and father and brings so much joy into our lives! He had made me a better person and taught me so much, from how to sew and cook better to figuring out parenting together. I'm so thankful for his love for the Lord and that we're sealed for time and all eternity!

I was going crazy with the lack of organization with the boys toys. I told Ryan I wanted to buy one of the cube storage shelfs and of coarse he goes into his shop and re-purposes an old TV stand and turned it into this beauty! Thanks hunny!

The rest of the pictures our treasures of the boys together

Kelly and Logan came up to visit back in October which was really fun! When Kelly got out Logans jammies we realized Jake has the same one and of coarse, had to get a picture.

Big helpers :)

Jake Turns 2

Ok, so if you've been following my posts then you know I'm obviously behind but I'm working on it!
Jake turned 2, which I still can't believe, Sept 25th.
We went and got donuts at QFC and told the boys not to eat them til we got home. We live literally 5 minutes away from the store and I turned around and found this :)

Jakes actual birthday was on Sunday so he got another special breakfast of pumpkin waffles! We then went to church, and he had a nice nap afterward and then had family come over to party.

A family in our ward gave us this awesome train table with tracks and train set a few months back which was so nice. We thought it was too nice and awesome to just give to our kids haha so decided to give it as a bday present :)

I had to throw this picture in at the end. I was a gorgeous sunset with this deep red that the picture doesnt come close to capturing. But still shows the beauty

Dad's Wedding

My brothers and I were able to fly out to New Jersey in Sept for my dad's wedding. It was fun to be able to be there and meet his wife Yael, her daughter Evana and new baby brother Rafael!

Do the Puyallup

The Puyallup Fair is the largest in Washington. I remember going growing up. All the kids would get free tickets in school and kids would be absent all throughout Sept when it was going on.
This year was awesome because my work gave us 4 free tickets, free parking, food vouchers and some free ride tickets!! It was awesome. Thanks Multicare :)

Jake learning about cows

Oliver the cow was her last year too so we had to snap another picture. He is HUMONGOUS!!
He weighs 2, 804lbs!! Holy Cow!!

Cute as a pumpkin!

The boys were a little nervous of the animals at first but then wanted to pet them all

Best BBQ place

When Vince and Ryan were climbing up the big slide he got stung by a wasp. I could see him crying but just figured he was nervous to go down the slide but when he got down to the bottom Ryan told me he got stung. We took him to the medical area and they gave him an icepack and a stuffed elephant. He was a trooper but ready to be done as you can see in the picture.
